I have had some Miyagikyos that we stellar both on nose and taste - but mind you these were single casks. Other official bottlings were often stellar on the nose but not retaining the same qualities on the palate. Having said that I'm still a big fan of the NAS Miyagikyo - well old batches from a few years ago. Although this 'distillery only' blend is good, it would have benefited much more with a distinguishable palate. Worth the experience nevertheless. - Clint Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01473933963199033747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-936562371243213081.post-91074137107560508072014-12-24T02:16:15.009+09:002014-12-24T02:16:15.009+09:00Persimmon, cinnamon and banana - this sounds a bit...Persimmon, cinnamon and banana - this sounds a bit like the quintessential Miyagikyo nose. Most Miyagikyos I had displayed a stellar nose, followed by a slightly disappointing palate and finish. Looks like this 'distillery only' blend falls into a similar category. Thanks for bringing this one up, Clint. Interesting stuff as always.Pierre Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07894803262338280739noreply@blogger.com
